My Mission Is To Reap The Lost - Is It Yours?

What is your mission as a child of the most high God?

If you read Luke 4, you will see that Jesus gives his mission statement. Since we are created in His image and likeness, we should have the same mission. Jesus is concerned about the lost souls - those who don't realize that He died for their sins - let's do what Jesus wants us to do - reap the lost.

During this season of harvest, let's think about what we can do to reap the lost. As you read the new testament books, you will see that Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed by the devil.

Do you realize that you have been given the same authority? Just like you can water a plant that seems to be dying to bring life back to it, you can bring life to other's dead situations as you sow the word of God to bring restoration, hope, healing and deliverance to them. Give it a try. The word of God is sharp and powerful and does what God intends for it to do.

The next time you sense in your spirit that you have encountered someone who is walking in darkness and is lost, sow into them the word that the Holy Ghost has given you to reap a soul for the kingdom of God.

Here is Jesus mission statement:

Luke 4:17

The spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captive, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. King James Version

In conclusion, as you operate in the power and authority that you have been given, you will be able to reap the lost by offering them healing, deliverance and illumination.

Talk To The Hand That Gives Power

When I was 7 years old, my two cousins and I would walk to the neighborhood church to attend the Sunday services. One day, we decided that we would give our lives to Christ. We were baptized and continued to attend the church for Sunday service as well as other functions. I had no idea at the time as to why I gave my life to Christ at such an early age but I’m glad I did. As I got older, I began to look back over my life and while praying, I asked God to reveal to me why he chose to save me at an early age and this is what he showed me. He let me see all of the various issues I had to deal with as a child that could have had me in a mental institution if I didn’t know who He was and who I was in Him. He let me see that as I began reading the Bible how blessed I was. I read the whole Bible through 4 different times and in 3 different versions, the King James, the English and the New International Version. When the church would have Bible games, he let me see that he empowered me to win every time because I was diligent in reading the Word and memorizing scriptures. He let me see that this was what motivated me to study God’s word even more. This may not have been a motivator for others but it motivated me and by the age of 13, I was selected to teach a Sunday School class of 4, 5 and 6 year olds and until this day, I am a teacher of pre-schoolers. As I begin to teach, this strengthened my knowledge of the word even more. This is what the word does, it empowers. God also showed me how the Word is what came to my mind when I was confronted with choices as I began to date. He reminded me of a time when I was in a room with a guy as a young adult in college almost about to do some “fleshly” things. Before I was able to make the wrong choice, the word came to me that my body was God’s temple and that I was to keep it clean, pure, Holy and undefiled. I began to think about the story I taught on Joseph and had to do like Joseph did when he was in a compromising position with the king’s wife – Run! Read his story and see the reward he got for being faithful to the one who had rule over him in the natural. We too will be rewarded even more for being faithful to the ultimate ruler – God Almighty. As I heard T. D. Jakes, say “the Word will work if you work it”, I can testify that this is a true saying. I’m quite sure that there are times when you are confronted with making a decision to do what you know to be the right thing to do. I know that the word that you read and meditated on will empower you to choose to do what is right in the sight of God. Just as I was empowered through the reading, studying and meditating of God’s word, you can also be empowered by doing the same thing. As you mediate on the following scriptures this month, let the Holy Spirit continue to empower you to make the right choices to bring about a change in the situations, dilemmas and challenges that are faced today by you and the harvest of souls you will be praying for God to empower.

June 17th Word on the Giver of Power

Take 60 seconds and meditate on the following scripture pertaining to the giver of power:

Jeremiah 10:12

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion. King James Version

But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding. New International Version

Write a prayer to the hand of Him who answers prayers based on the memorized verse:

Thank you for being the almighty God who has the power, wisdom and understanding necessary to create things. I pray that I walk in the same anointing as I tap into my creativity.

Write down what God's will is for you as the one who answers prayers based on the memorized verse:

God wants me to tap into his power, wisdom and understanding as I do the things that he purposed me to do on the earth.

Write down what God wants you to go and do based on Him answering prayers to reap the harvest:

God wants me to let others know that God has the power to equip them to operate in the same power that he used to create the earth.

And I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and to walk among serpents and scorpions and to crush them. Nothing shall injure you! The Living Bible

Listen! I have given you authority so that you can walk on snakes and scorpions and overcome all the power of the enemy and nothing will hurt you. Today's English Version

Write a Prayer to the hand of Him who gives power based on the memorized verses

Thank you Jesus for the authority you have given your people. Thank you for the power we have over the enemy whom you already defeated.

Write down what God’s will is for you on power in reference to the verses

God wants me to know that because of my relationship with Him, I have been give power and authority over the enemy so that I can walk in confidence of His Word that I will not be defeated.
