We are living in a generation where Starbucks, McDonald's and other restaurants are offering gourmet coffees and teas which happen to taste pretty good. I'm quite sure that Folger's will be coming out with their gourmet coffee soon - that's of course is only if they want to keep up with the competition.
So what does these gourmet coffees and sin have in common? Well, you be the judge. I was reading a comment on facebook where someone indicated that a young lady brought a cup of coffee to church and dranked it during the church service. Several people thought that it was so wrong to do to the point that they started sinning.
Here is a scripture that I believe would have been more appropriate to consider in this situation.
Galatians 6:1
Bretheren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual restore such an one in the spirit of meekness considering thyself lest thy also be tempted. King James Version
In conclusion, I believe the right thing to do was to have pulled over the sister at the end of service and find out if she is saved and then find out if she is looking for a church home, etc. In other words, show some type of love. She may be a babe in Christ and just don't know any better. Maybe the church she was attending is ok with drinking coffee durng service. I guess we'll never know. In the meantime, I believe that the person who started the thread to gossip about this should get a kneeling prayer pillow and spend some time in prayer on how to handle this type of situation if it happens again.
